Digital resources and open access

Digital resources can be in any form and format: text, images, photos, audio, video, web pages, presentations and any other form and format depending on the need. Digital resources in the literature are also known as digital objects. These digital resources can be used for domestic needs, for the needs of business, education, work, learning, entertainment etc.. Digital resources are an inevitable part of the e-society. In the last ten years we have witnessed enormous progressive and uncontrolled growth of these digital resources.

With Internet penetration in all levels of society and with the wider availability of internet access, the importance of digital resources significantly increased. Due to this development there is a need for organized storage of digital resources in digital repositories or digital libraries, enabling their availability, such as searching through the repositories and find the required digital resources as well as their reusing and sharing.
